Huawei announced to join the Board of the Smart Africa Alliance, as an ICT (Information and Communications Technologies) advisor, to help bring about digital transformation in Africa, according to the company's press release on July 18. The Alliance consists of African governments, international governmental organizations, and private sectors. The goals of the Alliance are promoting accessibility to broadband networks and ICT usage, strengthening the public-private collaboration, and accelerating digital transformation in order to reach sustainable socio-economic development through Africa. Huawei has been providing affordable network services and smart devices to Africa since 1988 with considerable track records.
